WoW: Battle for Azeroth Warfronts

If World of Warcraft (WOW) wasn’t big enough for you already, get ready because it’s about to get bigger. The massive multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) announced new content would be coming to the Battle for Azeroth expansion which released on Aug. 13.

While players have been scurrying to max out on their accounts on the latest WOW expansion, it is about to be short lived as new content will hit the platform over the next month. Battle for Azeroth will be getting its first Raid and a new Warfronts mode for players to test their skills during.

The Raid will take place in an acient research facility built by the Titans. It was first used to examine parasites called Old Gods while keeping them away from civilization. However, after years of abandonment and neglect, the facility has been overrun by synthetic beings, experiments and G’huun, the blood God. The Raid is known as Uldir and dropped on Sept. 4. Three modes will be available for immediate play including Normal and Heroic while Mythic is set to release on Sept. 11. The easy mode will be released over time with the first portion — or wing according to WOW — releases on Sept. 12 while the final installment releases on Oct. 10.

Meanwhile, game developer Blizzard will be releasing Warfront, going back to the original WOW start. The game originally released in Nov. 2004 was based on the real-time strategy, and Blizzard hopes to recreate that in a 20-piece PvE Warfront game mode as Alliance and Horde factions go head-to-head in conflict across WOW. The mode will be player activated by gamers turning in a specified amount of resources. The faction which launches Warfront will always win that round. Once a round ends, the opposition will have a chance to turn in resources, and the cycle will repeat, allowing players to garner an unspecified amount of rewards.

Warfront will kick off at Stromgarde Keep in Arathi Highlands and went live on Sept. 4 at 6 a.m. PT.
