The world’s first Esports racing hub opened its doors this past week. The Veloce Esports team, co-founded by Formula E champion Jean-Eric Vergne, launched a sim racing hub where racers can compete across platforms.The racing hub opened Wednesday night in partnership with Logitech G, sim racing giant, in London.

The facility will allow drivers to practice in a simulator and contains four Formula 1 rigs, three GT rigs and a 200-degree field-of-view F1 motion simulator. The facility is a live-stream performance with equipment that allows the races to broadcast across online streaming services including Twitch and Youtube.The facility has already garnered attention since its opening, being called “a live-streamed performance facilities.”“This is the ultimate venue for our drivers and team to engage the global audience that esports offers,” said Vergne. “The skills required to perform at the highest level in this industry are not to be underestimated. Esports is a serious business now and our athletes need the best equipment and atmosphere to keep improving as well as promote their careers through live streaming and content creation.”

A number of high-profile sim racers have signed on with Veloce over the past year and recently revealed its partnership with Sauber F1 for the second F1 season. The facility is one of the first of its kind and is a growing opportunity for esports; it will provide some of the best training for F1 athletes including Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 esports team. “Esports is an industry full of first moves right now, but this really is the start of something incredibly exciting for us and esports in general,” explained Veloce Esports Director Rupert Svendsen-Cook.
