Last year Gorilla qualified for the XBOX Finals match against German player CODYDERFINISHER showed the English players dominance over the competition winning the first match 6-0 and barely losing the second match 2-1. The match advanced to the grand finals in Westminster. Players played on both PS4 and XBOX to determine the best player. His opponent, VETO, put up a dominating start in game one starting 3-1 on PS4, but Gorilla persevered and managed to end the game in a draw at 3-3. The next game was played on Gorilla’s console of choice and he put up a dominating performance at 4-4. Gorilla claimed the prize of 200,000 USD and now will be defending his title later this year.
Last year, only 7 million players entered to compete for the title. This year 20 million entries were confirmed and the competition has only increased in skill. The prize pooling is expected to be larger than in 2017 and will be announced later this year.
