In February, we learned that “Sicario: War of the Cartels” Director, Stefano Sollima, was a sought after asset of a Call of Duty film. If this is likely, we will be able to see future installments and a large web of cinematic connections for us to pry on.
When Sollima was promoting “Sicario: War of the Cartels,” he answered questions from a movie blog of how a Call of Duty film would be different and how he would make it stand out rather than be another war movie. "I think it's more the idea, the concept of telling the story of a soldier, it's something you have not seen much, there have been many war movies, but no soldier's movie.” He later referenced a change in the nature of the game when transitioning it to the big screen. “I think the movie has to be a totally different experience from any video game, so in order to make a good movie based on a video game, you have to betray the structure. a video game, you have to create something that is completely new and a great movie.”
As of right now, we do not know when the Call of Duty movie will be released, or who would star in it, but, we do have some favorites!
