Look! Up in the sky, it’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a...meteor? That’s right! Looks like trouble is on its way to the land of Fortnite and people are scrambling to figure out what it all means. Ever since news broke out about a meteor eventually crashing down, people have been throwing out conspiracy theories left and right.
The most popular amongst them has been that the meteor is going to crash land somewhere in the infamous Tilted Towers; some say wiping out the location for good, while others just think it’s a prime location to launch a new major event. Epic Games has even acknowledged this conspiracy adding what looks like the remains of a campout atop one of Tilted Tower’s tallest buildings, also including signs that depict meteors, UFO’s, and even a sign that says today scratched out and replaced with tomorrow.
Now a tweet from Fornite’s twitter might have given us a pretty clear answer to what the meteor really is. Earlier this week, Fortnite tweeted an official announcement that the upcoming season 4 will be superhero themed. This is a smart decision as Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War premiers this week and it is likely that superheroes will be an incredibly popular topic for the next month or so, which leads us of course, to the meteor. Many are guessing that the meteor is a clear reference to perhaps the most popular superhero of all time Superman, who of course crash landed on earth from his home planet Krypton. It would be a pretty awesome reveal if the meteors turned out to really be superheroes, and maybe some villains, ready to cause a stir in the world of Fortnite. Still, season 3 is not over quite yet so we just have to wait and see what Epic Games has up their sleeves with this next season.
