Fortnite's First Shot Accuracy

Whether you know it or not, Fortnite is one of today’s hottest games on the market and shows no signs of letting up any time soon. From world class NBA athletes, like Kyle Kuzma of Los Angeles Lakers, and musicians like Drake, this game has drawn in users of all ages and all backgrounds.

But how familiar are you with Fortnite’s newest Patch 3.4 update? One of the features added is First Shot Accuracy for all weapons. It has been a long time comin’ but it’s finally here. If you’re unfamiliar with the First Shot Accuracy, here’s the breakdown:

Once you line up your reticle with the enemy, if you’re not moving and have not fired your weapon yet, you’ll hit your target. You’ll know when you have First Shot Accuracy because you’ll notice how zoomed or closed in your reticle becomes.

However, because of this added feature, fall-off and damage at set distances have lowered. Here are some of the key features:

? Suppressed Submachine Gun and Tactical Submachine Gun

  • Fall-off begins at 24 meters.
  • Damage reduced to 80% at 35 meters.
  • Damage reduced to 65% at 50 meters.

? Pistol and Suppressed Pistol

  • Fall-off begins at 28 meters.
  • Damage reduced to 85% at 47.5 meters.
  • Damage reduced to 75% at 70 meters.
  • Damage reduced to 65% at 250 meters.

? Revolver and Hand Cannon

  • Fall-off begins at 35 meters.
  • Damage reduced to 70% at 60 meters.
  • Damage reduced to 40% at 85 meters.

? Assault Rifle and Burst Assault Rifle

  • Fall-off begins at 50 meters.
  • Damage reduced to 80% at 75 meters.
  • Damage reduced to 65% at 100 meters.

Headshot damage has changed as well due to the First Shot Accuracy feature. Previously you would net 2.5 damage multiplier when striking headshots, now you will only give 2x multiplier.

American Twitch Streamer, Ninja, shared his thoughts via Twitter saying, “Fortnite feels off today. Not sure I like this shooting update, honestly felt the SAME way during the shooting test months ago.” via @Ninja Twitter. @fl0mtv, another Twitch Streamer replied, “You dont like the first bullet accuracy?” via @fl0mtv Twitter. Ninja then responded, “it just feels forced now I don't think it was needed. and honestly the damage drop off just does NOT feel good smacking someone for 20 MID range.” @Ninja Twitter.

So, what’s everyone thinking about the new update?
