With season 3 coming to a close, Epic Games has been releasing some art and content that suggests a super hero theme for season 4.
If you load up Battle Royale, you’ll notice that the in-game televisions are emergency broadcasts. On top of the buildings at Tilted Towers there is a lot of evidence of citizens welcoming aliens. Comets have also been striking the surface of the island. With the new art and these in-game clues, it is a safe bet that the space theme is tying into a super hero one.
While super hero content sounds awesome, we have no idea if we are going to get licensed characters. Season 3 had Fornite’s first character from another universe, John Wick. This is proof that Epic Games has the ability to snag some familiar faces.
However, we rarely see super heroes from the Marvel universe make cameos in video games not related to the franchise. Tony Hawk Pro Skater had Wolverine, Spiderman and Ironman but this was before the acquisition by Disney. This makes the case for DC Universe characters strong. Rocket League has the Batmobile, showing that the DC universe is ready for some promotion.
Another clue to a DC tie in is the female hero shown in Season 4 art posted on Epic Games’ social media. She looks very Wonder Woman like.Going back to the space/super hero tie in mentioned earlier, Superman is a hero from outer space. Marvel could be present, seeing as Avengers: Infinity Wars just released, however it could be a coincidence.
Fortnite has entered the eSports scene. Teams have been battling it out, fighting for control of the island. This creates some concern for balance. Fornite has been getting new weapons. With the hint of super heroes, the question of weapons raises some red flags.Is there going to be super hero weapons or just skins? This is something that has a more of an effect than character models.
